Assigned parking but no labels at my apartment?

I moved into a new apartment in Jan. Because of the snow, my landlady wasn't able to tell me exactly where my parking space was. Summer is now here, and I find there are no labels on the spaces (they have all faded, and you cannot make out the numbers) I got a warning of possible eviction because I wasn't using my assigned space. Do apartments need to label the spaces if they are going to mandate assigned parking?
